The Clinical Analysis of the Parotid Gland Tumors

Abstract
|
|
|
This clinical analysis was made on 21 cases of the parotid gland tumors admitted to Seoul National University Hospital, Department of Surgery for 5 years from Jan. 1971 to Dec. 1975.
In this series male is predominated over female by the ratio of 13 8 and peak age incidence was 3rd and 4th decade.
Benign mixed tumors were present in 67% and malignant tumors in 33%. Postoperative complications such as facial nerve palsy, salivary fistula, wound infection were developed in 7 cases of 18 patients.
The tendency of recurrence of the parotid tumors after unsuccessful surgery is stressed.
